Frequently asked questions
What is included in a dinner set?
Every listing shows the full piece list under What’s included, and the In your set box updates when you choose a quantity. Larger sets add serving pieces such as a soup tureen, oval platters, a teapot and a sugar pot.
How many people does a set serve?
A 98 piece set is made for 12 guests, with plates, soup and salad bowls and tea service for every place. 24 piece sets serve 6 for a main course, soup and salad, and tea sets serve 6 with a teapot, sugar pot and milk pot.
Is the gold real?
Yes. Our embossed gold designs use German-sourced gold paste with a real gold content of 10–12%, which gives the pattern its raised, textured look. To keep it bright, hand wash gently and avoid scouring pads, the dishwasher and the microwave.
What is bone china?
Bone china is porcelain made with bone ash. That makes it lighter and thinner than everyday ceramics while staying strong and chip resistant, with a soft, bright, slightly translucent white. Each product lists its exact material under Materials & finish.
Can I use the set in the dishwasher or microwave?
Check the Care section on each product. Sets with gold or other metallic detailing last longest when hand washed in warm water with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Never microwave pieces with a gold, silver or other metallic rim or pattern, as the metal can spark and the decoration will be damaged.
How are dinner sets packed?
Each set is wrapped in protective foam, packed in a gift box and shipped in a strong outer carton, so it reaches you safely and is ready to give as a gift.
How long does delivery take, and can I return a set?
Dinnerware ships within 5–7 working days and arrives in about 7–13 days. Orders of $100 or more ship free. For hygiene and safety, dinnerware cannot be returned, but if anything arrives damaged, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right.
