Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between porcelain and ceramic bowls?
Porcelain is fired at very high temperatures from refined kaolin clay, which makes it dense, non-porous, stain resistant and less prone to chipping. Stoneware and earthenware are heavier and slightly more porous. Each product lists its exact material under Materials & finish.
Are the bowls dishwasher and microwave safe?
It depends on the finish, so check the Care section on each product. Bowls with a gold or other metallic rim must never go in the microwave, as the metal can spark, and they should be hand washed to keep the rim bright.
Can I serve very hot or very cold food in them?
Yes, but avoid sudden temperature changes such as moving a bowl straight from the fridge to the oven or pouring boiling liquid into a cold bowl. Thermal shock can crack ceramics.
How do I keep them looking new?
Wash in warm water with a mild detergent and a soft sponge, avoid scouring pads and abrasive cleaners, and stack with a soft liner between bowls to protect the glaze.
How long does delivery take?
Dinnerware usually ships within 5–7 working days and arrives within 7–13 working days. Standard shipping is free on orders over $100, and every parcel is tracked and insured. See our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Can I return bowls?
Because they are so fragile, all dinnerware items are non-returnable. If anything arrives broken or damaged, email care@decoraura.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the item and its packaging, and we’ll arrange a replacement or partial refund. See our Return, Exchange & Cancellation Policy.
